The problem we faced here was the world of NFTs. Together with Not A Company we wanted to explore this hype without losing our face, scamming people or simply make a joke of ourselves. The world of NFTs was certainly not easy to navigate. Finding likeminded people that didn’t want to buy into some hype project but were interested in arts and culture wasn’t easy.
When everybody got rug-pulled left, right, and center while being promised the moon, we came out and said we had nothing to offer. But then we took it from there and made it something. We tried to do everything wrong and imagined what companies would never do. For example: we hired not a real CEO; his name was Captain Tiger-Tiger and was a fictional character. Beyond the unconventional approach, the funds generated through our NFT initiative played a significant role in fostering the global art community. The project generated a total traded value of US $2.2M, which helped people discover new international artists, finance their projects, and generate collaborations that might have never happened otherwise. By breaking traditional barriers and embracing a bold, avant-garde stance, we cultivated a platform that empowered artists and creators to connect, innovate, and thrive.
Mistakes were the secret sauce to this project. We knew they were gonna happen so we’ve built our ideas from it! This is how it all started: We knew we had nothing so we called ourselves Not A Company. This idea of doing things wrong and then making something out of it was the foundation. It was fun and entertaining for the audiences to watch and oddly honest for the NFT world.
